Statement of Qualification

Check the box to indicate that you agree to this statement of qualification:

i. Applicant must be a United States citizen. Preference will be given to composers who live or work in Georgia or are natives of Georgia, or whose project focuses on a Georgia-based theme. GMTA members are encouraged to apply.
ii. Applicant must not have won this award in the past 5 years.

Proposed Project

Describe style, duration, instrumentation. (Please discuss with GMTA Commissioning Chair if electronics, multi-media, or extended techniques for piano will be used.) Any duration is permitted but note that should the work be chosen to be performed at the MTNA National Conference, the time limit is 15 minutes. The commission at the GMTA Conference will include the entire work, regardless of duration.
Composer is responsible for providing performer(s) for the GMTA Conference premiere. The GMTA Commissioning Chair will help identify performer(s) when needed. See performer stipend information on the GMTA Commissioned Composer information page.

Anonymized work samples

Upload two musical scores (PDF) with accompanying audio or audio/visual files (web links). These do not need to be in the proposed style or instrumentation, but must have been written within the last 5 years. Web links can be for Dropbox, YouTube, Google Drive, etc. All submissions MUST be anonymous. This includes scores, links to scores or audio, or audio sites (YouTube, etc.) - there should be no identifiers anywhere.
