Teacher of the Year

This award is presented annually to a member of GMTA in recognition of lifetime achievement as a music teacher, with excellence in teaching, musicianship, professional activity, and service to the community and/or state.

Honorary Lifetime Members of GMTA

Becoming an Honorary Lifetime Member of GMTA is a special honor given to members with exceptional service to GMTA as well as MTNA. Any GMTA Teacher of the Year who becomes an MTNA Teacher of the Year will automatically become an Honorary Lifetime Member of GMTA.

MTNA Awards & Recognitions

The Music Teachers National Association has numerous honors for recognizing teachers and contributors in the music education field. MTNA is a not-for-profit organization of nearly 24,000 independent and collegiate music teachers committed to furthering the art of music through teaching, performance, composition and scholarly research. Founded in 1876, MTNA is the oldest professional music teachers' association in the United States.
